History of Elysium
Established in March 2005. The name 'Elysium' was founded from the dictionary and is Greek mythology for “heavenly place”. Hence the full name 'Elysium heavenly treatments'. The company was first launched as a mobile beauty service, offering a full range of beauty treatments in the comfort of your home. This service was very popular for brides and extended to offering pre wedding pamper sessions for the bride and all her close relatives.

Whilst working on a mobile basis, I was constantly seeking advice from clients, during the 9 months that I worked mobile. Researching what they would like to see offered within a salon and why. This research helped to decide the location of the premises and exactly what services we needed to be offering and to what type of client base.

Makeovers and fun at Elysium

Our aim
To provide facilities that are easily accessible, with ample town centre parking. We will endeavour to offer a professional, friendly welcoming service, with up to the minute treatments. All our treatments are unisex. We offer them mobile were required and within the salon. Our chosen products have been carefully picked. With both, Environ and Jane Iredale being the first of their kind in Bury St Edmunds and a close proximity.

We do not believe in the ageing effects of sunbeds, we therefore only promote adequate sunscreens for outdoors and spray tanning systems to give beautiful results without the damaging effects to the skin. We aim to use only products that have the most natural ingredients were possible. We believe by educating the younger generations, we will gain the best knowledge for our children’s futures.

Our skincare, Environ, is based on vitamins. By using them in there most natural form, we can get some incredible results. That, teamed up with our mineral based make up range, Jane Iredale, gives your skin all the protection it needs from free radicals. Which are pollution, smoking, light, computers, sun and many more factors. All of these our skins are exposed to on a daily basis.

The premises
It was always my dream to have my own salon one day, even when I was at college. I looked at numerous locations and premises before coming across the final choice. All the building work, design and decoration was carried out by myself, husband Vince and kind friends of ours who offered their time and expertise. We had just over two weeks to knock down walls and build new ones, redecorate and make it look like the salon you see today! As you can see from the pictures we had some fun along the way!

The salon is a unisex service, which offers two ground floor private treatment rooms with modern designed furnishings. Each treatment room has been designed to suit the treatments we offer. Excellent lighting and neutral colour schemes in room 2, for make up and hair removal. In room 1 we have rich, warm colours to accommodate our more relaxing treatments such as massage and facials. Our unique, modern, purpose build nail bar area is well lit and decorated in cool, calming colours.

Finally our reception area, which comprises of modern furnishings with wide doorways for easy access for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

The salon opening hours are: Monday closed Tuesdays 9am to 8pm Wednesdays 9am to 5pm Thursdays 9am to 8pm Fridays 9am to 6pm Saturdays 9am to 4pm
